An important research priority is HIV infection. Actual projects concentrate on pathogenesis and immunology particularly the analysis of relevance and function of HIV specific T-cells, analysis of virustatics resistant HI-virus, pathogenesis of immune therapies, therapeutic and praeventive vakzines as well antiretroviral therapies. Further topics are borreliosis, chronic fatigue syndrome and the role of endogenous retrovirus for the development of diseases.
