Schwerpunktprofessur Infektiologie und Immundefizienz

Leitung: Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Harrer

Der Fokus der Gruppe liegt auf der Analyse der Immunabwehr bei der HIV-Infektion und bei Covid-19, sowie der Entwicklung von antiviralen Therapien und Impfungen. Aktuelle Projekte beschäftigen sich mit der Rolle von HIV-spezifischen T-Zellen und der Bedeutung von viralen Fluchtmechanismen durch Fluchtmutationen und durch das virale Nef-Protein. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ist die Analyse der humoralen und zellulären SARS-CoV-2-spezifischen Immunantwort und der Rolle von kreuzreaktiven T-Zellen.
